Cologne – Only one week left until the first guests of EYUC 2013 arrive in Cologne. Everyone is pretty excited already! The four divisions with their initial pools meanwhile are applied in the Ultiorganizer system for an online results service of the European Youth Ultimate Championships. The official address, where you’ll find all results, is http://results.ultimatefederation.eu/?view=frontpage&selseason=EYUC2013.
The Tournament Organisation Committee (TOC) is trying to keep the results updated after every round of play. But there’ll be no live scoring, the TOC is sorry. Also concerning social media there’s no Facebook page or official Twitter service. For national updates relatives, friends and fans depend on guests with twitter accounts, who can use the hashtag #eyuc2013. Spirit scores will be published at the end of the tournament.
As said before, there’ll be a 60 page tournament brochure with all details concerning point cap and time cap rules, the formats of the division and the schedule, too. Here’s the link to the six pages pocket version fo formats and the schedule: http://www.eyuc2013.com/?page_id=127 (first link, use a “two pages view”). And here’s the one to the three pages SOTG overview: http://www.eyuc2013.com/?page_id=244 (at the very end). Furthermore the TOC is trying to provide a daily Newsletter called “Ulti Telegraph” until breakfast. For Catering all players and guests registered have breakfast at their respective accommodation and will have dinner at the Canteen of the German Sports University.
For distances and positions see the overview at http://www.eyuc2013.com/?page_id=242. Follow the green arrow from right (ASV stadium) over the middle (green field) to the left (canteen of the Deutsche Sporthochschule). This is all within five minutes walking distance. There’s an overview of the tournament area in the middle of the brochure, too. In the daytime the TOC will offer different snacks at reasonable prices at the ASV Stadium as well as cakes, sweeties and fruits for little money at the green field. On both sites you’ll be able to buy non-alcoholic drinks and there’s a free water refill at the green field, too. Whoever needs additional food can use the addresses of stores and supermarkets provided on the last pages of the tournament brochure.
Last not least here’s the program for the social events: There’ll be a get-together every evening after dinner at the ASV stadium (from about 8 p.m. on). These are the daily activities planned, all free of charge (except the drinks you’ll have to pay):
- Tuesday it will be a Karaoke Contest
- Wednesday there’s the screening of the disc documentary “The Invisible String”
- Thursday we will run a Guts fun tournament
- Friday is going to be the trading night with a live band later
- Saturday evening the remaining people might want to meet in a bar next to the ASV
